What is the best time to go on the Gangotri Yamunotri Do Dham Yatra?
The best time is from May to June and mid-September to October, when the weather is pleasant and both temples are open for darshan. The temples are closed during the winter months due to heavy snowfall.
How difficult is the Yamunotri trek?
The Yamunotri trek is 6 km one way from Janki Chatti. It is a moderate trek and can be done on foot, by pony, or via palanquins. Senior citizens and children should take it slow or consider hiring support.
Is a medical certificate required for the Yatra?
While not mandatory for Gangotri-Yamunotri like it is for Kedarnath, a basic fitness level is recommended. It’s advised to consult a doctor before the trip if you have any health concerns related to high altitude.
What is the starting point of the Do Dham Yatra?

Can children and senior citizens undertake this Yatra?
