About Sankri

Sankri is a small mountain village in Mori tehsil of Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. At roughly 1,950 metres above sea level, it serves as the last motorable roadhead for treks that head into Govind Pashu/ Wildlife Sanctuary. Dehradun railway station is the nearest major railhead. From Dehradun take a bus/taxi to Sankri via Uttarkashi & Mori.

By Road

Sankri is the last motorable village — government/privately-run buses and shared taxis run from Dehradun and Uttarkashi. After heavy snow some roads may be temporarily closed, so check local updates in winter.
